Adult and Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon

Dr Christopher Spelman is a specialist surgeon with expertise in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the lower limb in both adults and children.

Dr Spelman (MBBS, MSpMd, FRACS) specialises in the management of hip and knee disorders in both adults and children. He also treats a wide range of musculoskeletal disorders of the lower limb.

Dr Spelman has particular expertise in treatment of the following conditions:

  • Hip disorders and injuries, including hip arthritis

  • Knee disorders and injuries, including knee arthritis, knee ligament injuries (including ACL injuries) and meniscal injuries

  • General trauma / injuries, including fractures of upper limb and lower limb

Paediatric (infants, children and adolescents)

 

Dr Spelman treats all paediatric orthopaedic conditions, with a special interest in paediatric hip disorders.

  • Hip dysplasia through all age groups

  • Paediatric hip disorders including Perthes disease and Slipped Capital Femoral Epiphysis (SCFE)

  • Knee injuries
